1994 - Present Lansing Community College General consultants for Library information system - Library system being bid now for installation in existing facilities (3 locations). Design is for a new building to be constructed along with a campus-wide network. (We are consultants only on the Library portion of the network). Expected library nodes are 2000 with any 200 active at a single moment. 1991 - Present Okemos Public Schools Developed district-wide educational technology plan for 8 buildings including the New High School; consulted on curriculum issues; worked with architect on facility planning; developed and issued bid specifications; supervised system installations; and provided on-going technical support. Systems include district-wide, fiber optic network to route all voice, video, and data signals among buildings; broadband internal video distribution systems; new phone systems with T1 and voice mail; media center layout; networked electronic media programs; instructional and administrative computer networks; array of satellite downlink dishes; centrally located video distribution system; building communication systems; and an integrated communications system at the New High School. The study consisted of technology awareness, needs assessment and needs analysis, technical proposals, and reports to individual districts and the ISD. We were awarded the follow-up contract for technical study and cost analysis to establish a county-wide distance education network. (Contact: Mr. J. Randall Bergers, (616) 399-6940) 1990 - Present East Lansing Public Schools Developed district-wide technology plan for 10 buildings; assisted in passing millage; produced video program on plan; worked with architect on facility planning; developed specifications; supervised system installations; and provided on-going technical and applications support. Systems include: Broadband video distribution system; fiber optic building-to-building distribution system; LAN computer labs; WAN computer labs; administrative computer system; software selection; distance learning; satellite downlink; district-wide phone system; integrated communications system; automated library system; and electronic media programs for the media center. Systems include internal broadband video distribution systems; building communication systems; satellite downlinks; telephone systems; instructional computer labs; computer software selection; television studio; electronic media programs; and automated library systems. Prepared related budgets, bid specifications, board reports, project timelines, vendor contracts, and supervision assistance relating to the installation of an Integrated Communication System. (Contact: Mr. Mike Rice, (616) 364-8421) 1990 - Present Genesee Intermediate School District Engineering study report submitted for a Fiber Optic Communications Network to interconnect the 21 Genesee County school districts and the Genesee ISD. The report detailed the technical and engineering information important for developing bid documents for the construction of a fiber-optic network. It also identified the hardware needs for providing various voice, video, and data applications. When funds become available, bid documents, award of contracts, and supervision. Development of long-term multi-local district ISD technology services plan. Development of fiber optic network for two-way interactive television instruction between two high schools; implemented media retrieval, voice communications, and video across eleven buildings.
