GenNET, Basic Telephone Services and Tariff Services RFP Bids opened December 17, 2009. Awarded to PAETEC.
A single RFP was received from PAETEC. Other vendors who took out RFPs declined to respond due to having to connect to the GenNET fiber head end and deliver service over GenNET-owned fiber. Consequently, PAETEC, the current vendor was awarded a three (3)-year contract, commencing July 1, 2010. The estimated cost of this contract is $32,000 per month for all participating school districts. It is anticipated that this amount will generate savings between ten and twenty per cent (10 and 20%) over the previous contract.
