GenNET / Saginet RFQ for Maintenance and Restoration
of Outside Fiber Plant

The Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) and the Saginaw Intermediate School District (SISD) invite qualified suppliers of services for maintenance and repair of its Backbone Fiber Network outside plant to bid. The Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) will accept sealed proposals at the Erwin L. Davis Education Center, for the following Technology Project: Genesee Intermediate School District RFQ for Maintenance and Restoration of Outside Fiber Plant. This bid has two categories:

Part I: Maintenance of the GenNET Network
Part II: Maintenance of the Saginet Network. 

Bids are available 17 May 2005 

A pre-bid meeting will be held at the GISD on 20 May 2005 – 11:00 AM local time
BIDS ARE DUE at 2:00 p.m. local time on 02 June 2005

The GISD / SISD will receive sealed proposals for the above project delivered to the Attention of: Cynthia McCain, Superintendent’s Office, Erwin L. Davis Education Center, 2413 Maple Road, Flint , MI 48507 , until the stipulated bid opening date and time.  Bids received after the stipulated date and time will not be considered. Bids without a bid bond will be retained for the files and will not be evaluated. Bids will be opened and read at a public meeting scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on 02, June 2005 at GISD, 2413 Maple Road , Flint , MI .  Bids must be clearly marked GenNET/SAginet RFq Services for Maintenance and RePair Backbone Fiber. The RFQ defines all bid requirements. The RFQ requires all bidders to return a, bid bond, PA-232 statement, compliance form, base bid cost summary form and other documents. Bidders must indicate an installation time schedule for the work specified in this RFQ. Bidders must submit specific required unit pricing. A minimum of 5% bid security, either in the form of a bid bond or cashier check payable to the GISD must accompany each bid.  In accordance with Michigan School Code Section 129.201, before awarding the work, successful contractor(s) must obtain Performance and Payment (PLM) Bond for any project exceeding $50,000.  The Performance and Payment Bond shall be in an amount equal to the contract amount.  The Performance and Labor/Materials Payment Bond shall be solely for the protection of GISD and SISD. A surety company authorized to do business in the State of  Michigan shall execute the Performance and Labor/Materials Payment Bond. 

The GISD and SISD, reserves the right to reject any or all bids, award elements of the RFQ to different respondents, and/or waive irregularities in bids to serve the best interest of the Owners.
